Albuquerque, NM – In collaboration with the City of Albuquerque, the National Hispanic Cultural Center (NHCC) is thrilled to announce that it will host video gaming’s 6th Annual Latinx Games Festival in September!

"Given our Center’s focus on promoting, preserving, and advancing Hispanic arts and culture, it’s hard to imagine a better fit than this festival.” said NHCC Executive Director Zack Quintero. “This is an opportunity to connect with Latinx game developers and industry leaders from around the world, allowing us to build connections in one of the fastest-growing sectors of our economy in the country.”

Founded in 2019, the Latinx Games Festival represents the definitive video game industry event for Latinx game development. The organization aims to connect, learn from and advocate for Latinx game developers, providing a platform for global opportunities within the video game industry. Over the past five years, the event has attracted sponsorships from industry-leading companies like Nintendo, Xbox, and Valve.

This year’s festival will run from Friday, Sept. 20 through Sunday, Sept. 22, with award-winning panelists, breakout sessions, and even an e-sports tournament on campus! Learn from industry professionals about breaking into the competitive and ever-changing field, and get a sneak peek at new and soon-to-be-released games.

During the event, the Center will also play host to one of the rarest games ever made E.T. the Extra Terrestrial – which only had a few copies made for the Atari 2600 after its launch in 1982. The game is on loan from the Tularosa Basin Society. Pricing information and a full list of programming will be made available ahead of the festival’s start date.

Registration will be made available on nhccnm.org ahead of the festival start date. For more information about the festival, visit latinxgamesfestival.com
